Benefits to Viewing Your License History
Being able to view the history of all of the assets you have licensed on Shutterstock allows you to:
- Redownload assets (at no extra cost)
- Download assets in different sizes
- See the date the asset was licensed
- View the type of license you purchased for the asset (e.g. Standard License, Enhanced License, Media License)
- See whether the asset is for commercial or editorial use
How to View your License History
1. Go to shutterstock.com. If you are not logged into your account, do so.
2. Once logged in, click on the round person icon located in the top right corner.

3. A window will drop down with your account options.
4. Select the down arrow to expand Downloads and select the type of asset history you’d like to view.

You’ll now see thumbnails of all the assets you’ve download in that category (image, footage, or music). Below the thumbnail is the asset ID number, the asset type, and a tag that shows if it has been licensed or just comped.

At the top of the page there are several tools and sort features that can help you find an asset you licensed earlier. You can sort your downloads by asset type, license type, and date licensed. You can even search by keyword in the search bar or sort by newest or oldest license date.

You can also change your view from Grid View (default) to List View by clicking on the View icon on the righthand side.

If you want more information about an asset, click on the image thumbnail, which will open a window in your current tab.

In this window you can find the date you licensed the asset, the type license, and your current subscription plan to the right of the asset. You can also share a link to this asset, download a watermarked comp, or do simple editing tasks in Create, Shutterstock’s great editing program that lets you do things like crop, add text, apply filters, and resize the image to fit your project. To get back to your full list of downloads, close the window by clicking on the X in the top righthand corner of the window.
